Another complex culture different from the West, the East, and the New World, India is the link between the Middle and the Far East, that is between the Arab nations and China. Students reach a deeper level of understanding of Hinduism and of the caste system, and in return on their deep impact on Indian culture. The temple tower of Kandarya Mahadeva again links students to their studies of temple towers in other cultures. Students also study some mudras, or the language of hands in Indian dancing and the art of mandna floor painting. India's great contribution of the zero in our base ten numeration system and the game of chess both made a lasting mark on world culture. The literature selection for this kit is Tusk and Stone, a hero's journey that ultimately encompasses Hindu philosophy and all of India.
